Astronomy & Night Sky Summer Series

Time: 7:30 PM until 10:00 PM

Discover the night sky from Assateague Island! The event will begin with auditorium presentations followed by stargazing with telescopes. 

Times & Locations:

Astronomy 101 Presentation 

7:30, 8:00 and 8:30 p.m. 

Herbert H. Bateman Educational Center Auditorium (limited space available; first come, first serve; rain or shine)

Night Sky Observations through telescopes (subject to cancelation due to inclement weather; refuge closes at 10 p.m.) 

8:30 - 9:45 p.m.

North End of Parking Lot #1

The series is free and open to the public, however park entrance fees still apply. For entrance fee information visit: http://www.fws.gov/refuge/Chincoteague/visit/fees.html 

Optional items to bring: binoculars, a red light, and insect repellant

There series is a collaboration between Assateague Island National SeashoreChincoteague National Wildlife RefugeDelmarva Space Sciences Foundation and the NASA Wallops Flight Facility Visitor Center.
