Astronomers Without Borders will be announcing a program to collect eclipse glasses for distribution to other countries for future eclipses. Hold on to your glasses! Ask the company or organization you got them from if they will be taking part. We will announce details soon after the eclipse. What's On

The excitement is building for total solar eclipse on August 21, and AWB has plenty to share.  As the Moon's dark shadow races across North America from coast to coast for the first time in almost a century, hundreds of millions of people will have the opportunity to experience this most stunning of skywatching events.  Join AWB president and founder, and dedicated eclipse chaser, Mike Simmons, and AWB Communications Manager and National Geographic columnist Andrew Fazekas, for our Facebook Live episodes on Saturday, July 29 and Saturday, August 5 at 1600UT, 12 pm EDT, 9 am PDT. They'll be joined by eclipse experts who will answer your questions about solar eclipses - science and education opportunities, what to expect, and how to get the most from this unforgettable experience.

July 29 - The Eclipse Experience
Special guest Jay Pasachoff, one of the world's leading eclipse experts, will describe the latest on what scientists can learn from these rare events. We'll also talk about the how, where, and what of observing total solar eclipses, from doing science to taking in the whole experience.

Jay Pasachoff is the Fields Memorial Professor of Astronomy at Williams College, Massachusetts, a National Geographic explorer, and an avid solar eclipse chaser, having seen more than 60 solar eclipses of various types, and more than 30 total solar eclipse.

Mike Simmons has chased eclipses around the world, from aboard a ship in the Pacific to the peaks of the Andes.

Join AWB President Mike Simmons and AWB Communications Manager Andrew Fazekas aka The Night Sky Guy as they host special guest Alan Dyer, veteran eclipse chaser, AmazingSky photographer and author of new e-book 'How To Photograph the Solar Eclipse'. Find out tips and techniques on how to capture a photo of a solar eclipse.
