A FAIR FOR EVERYBODY
(Bucharest, September 30 and October 2, 2020)
Astro-photo-poem (cosmopoem) by Andrei Dorian Gheorghe

The Fair of the Old Men
was opened in the 1630s
and has become in time
the favorite place of entertainment
for the people of Bucharest.

Even the rulers of Wallachia
came here every year
to greet their subjects.

In the interwar period,
the largest agri-food hall
in south-eastern Europe
was built here
(main architect: Hotria Creanga).

At the same time,
the amusement machines were provided
by one of the most famous Luna Parks
(a generic name for large amusement parks
from the 1900s).

And now let's be a little serious:
those machineries came from Prater-Vienna,
not from the Moon!
