Astronomy Club of Kosovo / Klubi i Astronomëve Amator të Kosovës (ALB), is made of a young group of people who love Astronomy and aim towards bringing the science of Astronomy and its beauty closer to the people of Kosovo, Albania and the region.

The group initially came together as only lovers of astronomy, with simple tools that each member of the group had in their homes, slowly growing into a more serious group with scheduled meetings for stargazing, discussions about astronomy and ways that the group can impact the community of both countries.

Our NGO has been registered in late 2014, since we have seen interest towards astronomy and realized that we need to grow our community and find ways to support our activities.

<p>Born in Belgium in 1957 (from a Belgian father and an American mother). Here, everything seems a lot more complicated: more taxes, more government, more languages, more people per square kilometer or mile, more light pollution, but, nevertheless, as much passion for things going on up there, naturally or man made. This was thanks to the first time I saw 2001: A Space Odyssey back in 1968, followed by the promises of the Moon. One weakness was my dislike for maths, which led to human science studies (law and a specialization in insurance). I've been working since 1982 in the insurance world. But the real interest has always been space and in 1994, I joined an astronomy club in Brussels. I became its president in 1999 and , with a bunch of friends, several ETX90 telescopes and 20x80 binoculars, we regularly go to a small road, away from any light, and enjoy stargazing whenever opprtunities allow for it. Since 1997, I've been using the internet to gather more and more information about space related discoveries, issues and to make friends from all over the world! We share the same passion for space and it's great! My favorite motto would be: "Ne fais pas &agrave; autrui ce que tu ne voudrais pas qu'on te fit" "Don't do unto others what you don't want others to do unto you.</p>

I am the weekend events coordinator (voluntary position) at the Planetarium Science Centre, Accra, Ghana. We have 2 types of weekend events - meetings of the Astronomical Society of Ghana, and public events, which may include hands-on activities for children, planetarium show or telescope viewing.
I am currently studying astronomy online, and also go into schools presenting science and astronomy sessions.

Astronomy data analyst at the University Observatory in Vienna, Austria. Official designated contributor to forward all NASA information pertaining to the APOD project through the Serbian version of the APOD site, executive officer in charge. Astronomer in charge for translating ESO texts to Serbian, as well as ESA liaison for information distribution to Serbian language social network outlets, translator of IAU-Astronomy Outreach Newsletter in Serbian language, and translator of Hubbles Picture of the Week, publisher of weekly astronomy journal "AAO - Aktuelna Astronomija Online".

I am currently president of the AstroGEDA group, the astronomical grouping of Elche. We carry out various outreach activities throughout the year: conferences, exhibitions and "telescope planting" in parks and gardens. We have participated several times in the GAM and other activities proposed by you. We were the only ones to participate in the "Wave at Saturn" campaign on July 19, 2013. Last year we also participated in NASA's InOMN project. Personally I give talks in schools and at night I teach them the Moon and the planets. On the other hand, I have a radio program where every 15 days I get to know the most important news given in observatories and space agencies, in addition to ephemerides and historical notes. I'm also with Fernando Roquel and Pedro Saizar in the Hispanic group of AWB on facebook.

Thanks to the forums and "Star parties" that we organize several associations, we know many people and it is easy to reach more people.

I have been passionate about astronomy since I was a child. Like most children, I had no possibility to explore the stars except for with my naked eyes. Now as an adult, I take the science very seriously, and enjoy popularizing the hobby of astronomy for free (especially among the youth).

My involvement in community outreach was very much inspired by John Dobson who felt that everyone should be able to see the wonders of the cosmos through a telescope!

My favorite planet is Jupiter, and my favorite Messier Object is either M13 (through a telescope) or M8 (through binoculars). I dabble in astrophotography, but am more of a visual astronomer.

I cooperate with some very serious astrophotographers from the UAE Astronomy Group. We meet both privately, and to do community outreach. We welcome people of all levels to observe & photograph with us.
