A COSMIC CORNER
Astro-photo-poem (cosmopoem) by Andrei Dorian Gheorghe
On September 17, 2020,
the special aspect of the Sun led me
to a special Bucharestian corner,
where I found
a statue of the Romanian national poet
Mihai Eminescu (1850-1889) -
who wrote so many verses about the Cosmos -,
the block where his best English translator
Corneliu M. Popescu (1958-1977) lived
and Saint Elias’ Church of Rahova,
where an external painting shows him
flying through the sky in a chariot of fire.
A nice celestial-terrestrial experience for me,
although today Saint Elias is seen
rather as a robot flying in a spaceship
toward the Sun.
