Starlit Reality

Aug 13
By Kristianna Thomas

When I look on high at all the stars in the sky
Do I see a reflection of all the things I am meant to be?
Do I really feel that there are eyes looking down on me?
I am not so sure of who you are or what you want to be
Space is full of stars and space is such a mystery
But you cannot see the forest for the trees
Do you dream of life, and do you dream of death?
Do you let your spirit soar into the endless depths?
Do you dream of others dreaming dreams of thee?
Dreaming dreams of how things could, should or ought to be
Am I dreaming of you?
Are you dreaming of me?
Can we both dream together in this starlit fantasy
Are we all alone in this ocean of stars?
Are we by ourselves with no one near and feel the pain of isolation and how the soul decays?
Am I looking at me?
Are you looking at you?
Can we both look together to see what we can see?
Do you look like me?
Do I look like you?
Maybe we do not look like each other
That would not be the crime of the century
Am I thinking of you?
Are you thinking of me?
Can we both contemplate together
Under this starlit reality
